Bristol Scenes by Gill Dix

My name is Gill Dix, I am now retired and have always enjoyed art , I have had lessons in watercolours with some wonderful teachers.

My late aunt Gladys Crook and my late father Frederick Knight have both inspired me to paint in watercolour, pen and wash and oils. They both were very talented . My brother Steve Knight is an excellent wood sculptor , and my mum painted very delicate flowers.

My sister Hilary Davies is a wonderful  abstract artist, producing colourful scenes of places she has visited.

I paint my Bristol scenes from my photos.  I have recently entered the Bristol Harbourside Prize Competition, which was great fun with my picture of "Moored at the Arnolfini ".I am very happy to take commissions of any picture, please see my contact page.

All my cards are £2 each including postage.

 Tall cards  -Size 8.5" x 4"

I also make single cards  size 7"x5

Notelet packs of 5 blank cards are £5.

I am at Westbury on Trym Country Market in the Methodist Church Hall some fridays  from 10.30am until 11.30am. where we sell crafts, cakes, plants etc.

I organise the  Henbury Art Club  every Thursday morning in the HENBURY VILLAGE HALL,  we would like more members, and we meet every week from 10-12  until July 14th , then we break up for the summer.

We have an annual Art Show in the Henbury Village Hall on May Day.

We raised money for  The Stroke Association this  time and had a lovely day. Roma Widger came along and painted all day, it was a great success and we raised lots of money for the charity and the Village Hall.
